Hi all! Crazy around here… Sorry for the lack of posts. We are in the airport in Nashville headed home from a few days of food, music, and fun…. Our Friends Rebecca and Kim gave us great recommendations. Here are a few of our favs!

First stop. Burger Up. Yum! I highly recommend this as a stop. All local food and just a good burger. I had the lamb burger with truffle fries and Mark had the burger with bacon and cheddar with a chipotle pumpkin soup. Definitely a required stop on future trips.

Park Cafe was a nice cozy stop for dinner. I had the special which was great. Meridees in Franklin for breakfast.. Hello biscuits and gravy. Plus Franklin is such a cute place to walk around and shop. After that we drove through Leiper’s Fork then in to the Loveless Cafe… A definite classic. The biscuits were awesome! Then another must do was Patterson House for drinks. I had the the Vodka Cobbler. They have such interesting combos and I loved the atmosphere. Then Margots, 308, Noshville, and Whiskey Kitchen rounded out the trip. Nashville may be known as music city but is also a great place to grab a bite to eat or an awesome drink. Springhouse

Hi all! Wow… It has been a crazy few months. A few weeks back while traveling for work I went to dinner at Springhouse. Springhouse is at Lake Martin in Alabama. I worked on the interiors with Doug that works with me at Tracery and Jeff at Dungan Nequette Architects. Everytime we are in the area we love to stop back by for dinner. It is always great and this was no exception. I am now on a little vacation and I am catching up on my blog posts! Take a look at a few pics I snapped while I was at dinner with Doug and Hannon.

Last night I returned to Abbatior for dinner in Atlanta. I highly recommend it if you find yourself in Atlanta. We had the chicharones to start… Yes… Fried pork skins. These tasty little treats melt in your mouth like cotton county at the local fair. I enjoy the food and the atmosphere. With my career(and LOVE) of interior design this place makes my heart go pitter pat. Here are a couple pics of the restaurant and of course the chicharones!

I had lunch last week at George’s at Alys Beach which is located along scenic highway 30A where we live. I always love lunch on the porch at George’s. The fun restaurant is owned by Geoge and Ann Hartley who created a two part menu…. Behave and Misbehave. We all behaved at lunch. There are so many great choices at George’s and I have enjoyed all of my meals. A few of my favorites are gyro, grilled fish tacos, crab and avacado salad, thai beef salad…. Just to name a few.

Two Urban Licks: Tuna Tartare

I have been to Two Urban Licks in Atlanta twice recently and both times I had this dish. It is awesome! The description on the menu reads as follows… green apples, red onions, spicy sesame dressing, avocado, on housemade potato chips. Can you say yum!

Oysters….how do you like ‘em?

I LOVE OYSTERS… I really do. It is great to live on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico where there are oyster bars. We love to run over to Apalachicola for a weekend getaway where I love to eat the oysters that are fresh off the boat. I love oysters either raw or baked. But grilled with a butter garlic sauce is pretty awesome. A few weeks ago we had my husband’s birthday at Dusty’s Oyster Bar in Panama City Beach. It is a little drive from Seagrove but well worth it. I enjoyed raw oysters that day…here are a few pics…

Yum... make me hungry just posting the photos!

Love oysters with a little cocktail sauce... but definitely make your own.

Doesn't Dusty's just look like an oyster bar?

Gotta go! I am going to meet some friends and grab a few oysters!
